IT’S GOOD TO BE A BEAR IN AUGUST & SEPTEMBER

If you’re a beefy bear, a cub, an otter, a chub, a muscle bear, a burly bloke or maybe one of their admirers, there’s a whole host of great events coming up across Europe just for you.

Book yourself a cheap flight to Malaga on August 10th and you’ll be just in time for Mad.Bear Beach 2016. It’s a week-long beach party held in the gay-friendly town of Torremolinos on the Costa del Sol and now in its eleventh year, Mad.Bear Beach has become one of Europe’s hottest bear summer events attracting beefy bears, cubs and their admirers from all over the world.

Sponsored by Bearwww.com, Mad.Bear Beach combines afternoon and evening beach parties with international DJs live on the beach from 5pm each day with nightly bar parties at the resort’s best bear bars and six official club events to keep you partying right through the night. And when the club sessions finish you can continue to party with after party sessions at Sauna Atlas.

On Saturday August 13thit’s the Mr Mad.Bear Beach Contest and for those in need of a bit of culture, nearby Malaga has some of Spain’s finest museums including Picasso, Thyyssen and Pompidou! For more details check out www.madbear.org.

If the thought of Spain in the sweltering month of August gets you all hot and sweaty then maybe Bears On Ice in Reykjavik from 1st to 4th September is more your thing.

It’s a friendly, laid back social event for bears and their friends that’s been going since 2005 and it’s a great way to see a little bit of the amazing Nordic island country in the company of likeminded guys from all over the world.

Bears On Ice combines guided tours that visit Iceland’s lava fields, geothermal geysers and the famous geothermal Blue Lagoon during the days and parties in the evenings. For more details check out www.bearsonice.org.

From 2nd to 11th September the small seaside town of Sitges welcomes over 5,000 bears and their admirers when it plays host to Sitges Bears Week, one of the biggest and most popular Bear festivals in Europe.

We don’t know why it’s called Sitges Bears ‘Week’ though as it’s actually 12 days of events and parties with top DJs, club nights such as the anniBEARsary party, the Mr Bear Sitges competition, a dedicated Bears Village by the beach and loads more! For more info see www.gaysitgesguide.com.

On 22nd to 25th September, away from all that sun, sea and sand, it’s the twelfth annual Stuttgart Bear Pride. Over the four day festival there will be a bearish Karaoke party, the bear swimming and a men-only-party with two dance floors and well-known DJs, ending with the traditional oktoberfestlike party called Chicken Night on Sunday evening, organised by Stuttgart´s gay-lesbian sports club Abseitz.

But it was the English translation of the event’s ‘biggest and most diversified program ever’ that sold the event to us: ‘We´re gonna hum, sing, swing, swim, sway to music, dance and party with you!’ Find out more at www.Bearguide.net.
