The ApplyToModel Recruitment Fair and Prowler Porn Awards 14 & 15 March 2014, Manbar, Soho, London.
It was a first for the UK’s gay porn industry when the great and the good came together to enable potential stars of the future to discover what working in the porn industry is all about at the first ApplyToModel Recruitment Fair. Studios involved with the two-day event, organised by Twisted XXX Media and sponsored by leading gay retail, online and distribution company Millivres Prowler Group, included Scott XXX, Euroboy, Cash Models, Justin King, Simon Booth, Eurocreme, 56 Dean Street, Blake Mason, BoyNapped and Treasure Island Media.
Those lucky enough to get hold of tickets were in for a real treat on the Friday night of the event, when the Prowler Porn Awards 2014 were held. Presented by hot porn stars JP Dubois and Scott Hunter, awards were spread across 15 categories and included Best British Twink, which went to Reece Bentley, Best British Stud, won by Paddy O’Brian and Best British New Comer which went to Adam Dacre. With a judging panel made up of executives from across the industry, it was a public vote that helped decide what was a closely run race. The other highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award, which went to Gavin Hay, porn star daddy and head honcho of Alphamales.com.
And as if there weren’t enough porn industry glitterati present, the audience were thrilled when halfway through proceedings, the outrageous porn director Chi Chi LaRue appeared on a massive screen, to send her own distinctive message from her home in Los Angeles. Chi Chi had been invited to introduce the nominations for Best British Director, which went to JONNO, UKNakedMen and Butch Dixon’s hot director.
Following the success of this year’s inaugural event, it looks like the ApplyToModel Recruitment Fair and the Prowler Porn awards are set to be regular fixtures on the gay porn industry’s calendar in the future, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s glamorous event!
