We Talk Fetish with Recon’s Philip Hamill

What are you most looking forward to about Fetish Week 2017?

The best thing about Fetish Week and the Recon parties is actually being able to meet our members and to put a face to a name. We get to know many people online, who may live on the other side of the planet, so it’s great to finally meet them in the flesh. It’s also good to see people at our events who’ve travelled a long distance – we like to make them feel at home.

This one sounds like it’s set to be biggest one ever, would you agree?

Absolutely. Each year our event is bigger than the previous year. We always try and better our last FWL by adding something new into the mix.

We work hard all year to ensure that we’ve thought of everything possible to make the full week a huge success. This year, there are more and more people planning to travel into London from overseas for Fetish Week, and I can’t wait for them to experience it!

How are you possibly going to top this for Fetish Week 2018?

That’s the challenge! With so many London gay venues closing recently, it’s tricky finding places that will host events like ours. But the team are on the case, and will do what it takes to ensure our members and the kink community can come out to play, meet, socialise and celebrate their fetishes.

What would you say to any newbies considering getting involved this year?

Come on out and say hello to us. We are a kinky, but friendly bunch and we are very welcoming to guys who have never been to one of our events. It can be a little daunting for someone who has never been to a fetish event, but once they are inside they quickly lose their inhibitions and enjoy their evening.

    What’s your fetish?

My fetish has changed over the years. When I first started having an interest in gear, I was in my teens. I was obsessed with guys in boots back then. Since then, my gear fetish has expanded through to skinhead, leather, rubber, masks, hoods and military uniform. My latest choice of gear is all-black SWAT uniform, which I love to wear out at our events – keep an eye out for me!
