We caught up with Ben from the Prowler Porn Awards, post-show, to find out how the whole shebang went!
How do you think this year’s awards went?
In one word, amazingly! This year’s ceremony had several changes, compared to last year. The biggest being an after-party with live sex, which some might claim was the highlight of the event! The stage show spilt out into almost every space in the nightclub including the outdoor area which was great to see happen!
This year we also took a chance and booked 2 hosts, the fabulous American gay porn director Mr Pam from Naked Sword and Danny Beard, finalist on that well known, prime-time, British TV talent show; both people with larger-than-life personalities and the crowd loved them both!
Both hosts worked so well on stage together, bringing the awards to a close with such energy and a real love for each other, which was great.
What were the hurdles you had to overcome to get the event sorted this year?
Our biggest hurdle was that a few months before the event, Millivres Prowler Group pulled their support, leaving us with no sponsors! My own team, who bring the ceremony to life had little experience in attracting sponsors but together, pulled ‘rabbits from hats’ bringing in 12 additional sponsors and the funds required to stage such a big event. I really could do it without their help & support!
What are you most proud of?
Proud of? That’s easy! My team of course, and the number of guests the event attracted! During the event, and into the after-party, I had numerous people coming up to me to compliment the event, and that was wonderful to hear! It was an incredible three and a half hours that I will never forget, a HUGE thank you to all the people that came along.
We hear you’d like to expand them into Europe, can you tell us more?
News travels fast! We do have our sights on Europe, and right now, we are in talks with two major adult businesses and aim to stage the 2018 Prowler Porn Awards as the ‘Best European Porn Awards ceremony’. Watch this space!
