Founded in 1978 by a 34-year-old, self-confessed virgin, Catalina Video was known as the ‘Crown Jewel’ of the gay adult entertainment industry throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
It went on to produce landmark films – many of us will remember watching on VHS video cassettes – such as Big Guns, Hot Rods: Young and Hung II and what’s been cited as ‘the best gay adult movie of all time’ Powertool. Catalina Video discovered many now famous porn stars including Kip Noll, Kevin Williams and gay porn icon Jeff Stryker.
Catalina: The Vintage Years looks back at what’s known as the ‘golden age of gay porn’ and shows how our tastes in gay porn (and what gets us off) have changed over the last four decades.
