The biggest piece of legislation to hit the adult industry is still looming on the horizon. After years of political wrangling and being delayed on several occasions, the laws that were set to come into force on July 15th, 2019 have been delayed another six month due to an “administrative oversight”. Part of the Digital Economy Act, the law aims to tackle the trend of those aged under 18 accessing pornographic pictures, videos and text online. Once introduced, anyone looking to access adult material online will have to verify their age. It’s down to each porn website to implement the technology of age verification, each having to develop a static landing page that doesn’t contain explicit images.
