I’m Zack Hadley, and welcome to my new monthly column in the horniest magazine around! Some of you might recognise me, either from the porn movies I’ve produced or perhaps from the various clubs and Prides I’ve had the pleasure to DJ at in Dublin, London and around the country.

HOW THINGS HAVE CHANGED
When my mates and I get together for a good piss up, we talk about the usual; the week’s news, latest music, the totty in this week’s episode of Shameless and, of course, the recent shags courtesy of the many online dating sites and mobile apps.

As a 27-year-old gay guy, I often take for granted the lifestyle that so many of us live today, but I know it has not always been like this. It’s a subject that I find fascinating and I wanted to find out just how things have changed in a relatively short space of time.
Whilst recently out and about in Soho one random Saturday evening, I met Pete, a born and bred Londoner in his late 60’s. He told me that the vibrant and diverse scenes of Soho have come along way since 1967, the year when homosexuality was legalised in the United Kingdom.
Back in those days, even the most vanilla of bars were very much underground and operated a ‘membership’ policy. If another member didn’t introduce you to the clubs then you weren’t getting in. Bars were discreet and so were the guys who drank in them. He went on to tell me about the legendary Coleherne in Earls Court, and how it attracted a large leather community. How things have changed.
Hooking up with a guy nowadays couldn’t be easier or any more convenient. With the likes of online dating and hook-up websites such as Gaydar, recon and Manhunt, cruise sites, for instance, Squirt, mobile apps like Grindr, and the continuous opening of saunas, cock is pretty much available 24/7, 365 days of the year.
The days where you were on the lookout for coloured handkerchiefs, hanging around the local cottage for hours and submitting hidden ‘hook up’ messages in Exchange & Mart are long gone.
I’m very proud to be a part of the gay scene we have today. It’s come along way, even in the last 20 years. Whether you want a quiet friendly pint or a good fuck. Whatever your kink, you can almost be certain there’s a club or night that caters to it. Whatever you want, you can have it.
I am very grateful that I’m in my twenties at this time. It’s a great time to be living it and I do live it! I can’t wait to see what will happen to the scene in the future but it can only get better.

I recently DJed at Full-On-Fetish at the legendary men only cruise club, Boltz, in Birmingham (featured in QXMEN last month!).
