Fitladz is the UK’s premier cruise and dance club and pulls some of the hottest men in London through its doors every Friday. While it’s first and foremost a dance club with hot DJs playing pumping house and rnb, Fitladz also has a packed out darkroom that’s just as popular with clubbers as the dance floor. QXMEN spoke to Steve Darragh, the man behind Fitladz, to get his take on sex and music and find out how Fitladz has managed to marry the two so well…
It’s safe to say that sex and music are pretty closely linked, what song or genre would you feel describes your sexual style?
A pumping driven beat but with a sexy groove is what gets me in the mood.
What do you think was the first sexual dance hit?
I think Donna Summer. Either Love To Love You Baby or I Feel Love! Although Barry White’s I’m Gonna Love You Just A Little Bit More Babe might hit the spot!
Fitladz nights have a very distinctive musical sound, do you feel that’s an important part of the atmosphere?
Absolutely. You can hardly give or receive a blowie with Kylie screaming out can ya!
What kind of atmosphere do you want to create?
A sexy, relaxed, fun atmosphere with peaks of great excitement.
Do you reckon is sex better with some banging tunes on?
Depends who you are with but certainly under the right circumstances yes. You can’t beat a good bangin. erm tune.
Who are the sexiest DJs/producers?
Too many and I don’t want to upset or embarrass any so will just say the Fitladz ressies.
Have you got a sex music experience you’d like to share?
Yes I have. I think we all have… I remember a few years ago when I was in a famous shopping centre and I was in the middle of getting jiggy when… Well, you really don’t wanna know!
